CHRISTMAS & NYE 2010
In Alaska for the Holidays
On December 22nd, Jen and Willow headed up to Alaska with Jake following close behind on the 24th. We had some wacky weather; the temp was 17-below when we arrived and 45-above when we left, but we still managed to enjoy our usual activities: playing in the snow, x-country skiing, taking pictures of Willow next to the Willow sign and New Year’s Eve on Long Lake complete with a little snow machining, a bonfire and lots of fireworks. We also survived a major milestone: a night away from the babe. With Bibi & Babu minding Willow, we took off for Alyeska Resort in Girdwood (the town where we had our wedding reception), where we had 2 beautiful days of skiing (xc and downhill) with blue skies and mountain vistas on day one and snow on day two, topped off with massages and a fabulous dinner--plus, we got to sleep in! Meanwhile, Willow learned the true joy of Christmas (tearing into someone else’s presents), enjoyed some quality time with cousins Jacob and Andrew and mastered going down stairs. A good time was had by all!
