Willow (8 weeks old today) entered our lives on October 21, 2009, although she’d been making her presence felt for at least the previous 6 months with little kicks and punches. The cliches about becoming a parent are true. It is a life-changing miracle.

Saturday: We got off to a later start than planned but still managed to get to the boat and pull out by 8:30am--no easy feat for us. We had about 2 hours of good wind and a serious fog bank before settling into a clear windless day.
Well, I guess it’s about time to write something about the little gray blob in the photo above. She (yes, she--or so we have been led to believe) is likely going to be turning our lives upside down in a couple of months.
For the first time in Jake’s professional life, he had Memorial Day off. We took full advantage. We got up early Saturday morning, packed the car and headed to the boat.
We hit daylight saving time this weekend. Seattle was just starting to get nice and light in the mornings. We were both enjoying catching a few rays (and some of that precious vitamin D) as we walked into work. I guess we’ll have to wait another month or so for the morning light to return.
It has been another wild year for us complete with job changes and another cross-country move. I'd say that we're hoping to slow things down a bit in 2009, but the truth is--we kind of enjoy a wild ride.
